Motion Control & I/O Components
The ControlPoint™ motion control system is designed for the precise, distributed control of: motion, analog & digital I/O, machine power distribution, safety interlock operation and monitoring. Unlike other distributed control systems, ControlPoint's open, industry-standard interfaces provide compatibility with literally thousands of rotary and linear servo drives, stepper drives, sensors, actuators and motors.
ControlPoint's carefully conceived software architecture provides users with the capability to create event-driven, multi-threaded applications that control most machine functions through a single software interface (API). The ControlPoint network is an innovative design that allows for a very high-performance system that can respond deterministically to events in less than a few hundred microseconds, yet is still robust (redundantly powered, fault-tolerant and optically isolated) and low cost. Hundreds of functions, including advanced motion trajectories, customizable logic functions, and event-driven interrupts are combined with a software "meta-driver" that includes autonomous data collection, thread management, system diagnostics and data caching.
